Serial number is: TS12172R.

Last Inspected on: No Data.

Elevation is: 27.924 meters.

Receiver Type: TRIMBLE NETR9

CORS station, collecting geodetic data from GNSS (Continually Operating Reference Stations).

CORSnet-NSW is a precise positioning service that gives users access to fast and accurate positioning and guidance solutions across NSW. In recent years, precise positioning and guidance systems have emerged as useful tools across a variety of applications such as:

• Surveying

• Agriculture

• Construction

• Emergency services

• Mining

• Scientific research

• Asset management

CORSnet-NSW uses the latest Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technology to provide an accurate spatial reference network for NSW and support the growing number of precisepositioning and guidance applications throughout the State.

How does it work?

The service is delivered by a network of permanent GNSS receivers – known as Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS) – that are strategically located across NSW. The CORSnet-NSW network continuously observes and corrects satellite navigation signals in order to achieve international standard, high accuracy positioning data for NSW. The data is streamed to users via a wireless internet connection.

I took the Cremorne point ferry for a ride.

While on the way I took a shot of the CORS on land.

Nice very trip that it was.

Spotted this CORS Trig with Dinomus Prime on our ferry ride to and fro from Taronga Zoo. TFTT

CDame past on the ferry (south side) and took a few shots with the SLR with the 300mm lens. Realised later that I had the focus on manual, so was a bit blurry. Came back to the Quay on the north side and could only see the top disc of the CORS.

OOps! Got my trig mixed up wit the CORS. Need to get closer for the CORs, or use a longer lens.

We snapped this phot seeing as you can no longer visit here TFTC

Nice day for a walk to the Opera House after a day of meetings. Warm day, but still nice. What better than grabbing a few TPs and Caches on the way.

I needed the GC virtual for a D/T spot & had been meaning to do it for ages. So today was the day! What a glorious winter's day & a wonderful spot. I was met off the ferry by the guide - Romaine, she was super helpful & had met several cachers before. Picked up the other GA caches too, all done & dusted & back on the return ferry within 45 mins. Thanks for a great day out

Great spot and I have been wanting to visit Fort Denison for a long time now. The weather was a little rough with showers and a bit of wind. Took the guided tour as well and it was very interesting. Stayed for the 1 o'clock firing of the gun as well. TFTC.

Took a trip out to Fort Denison this morning. Could see this one as I alighted from the ferry but waited unit I was on the upper terrace before snapping a shot.

Also took a little time exploring the island where one can without being on a tour

Today was a day of island hopping: shark island, fort Dennison and cockatoo island! Together with MrMash and ZiggiAU, Team MavEtJu (Edwin, GeoDirk and HanorahTLG) went on this adventure!

We thought we would have a crappy photo from the bottom, but ended up with a nice photo from the top!

09-Apr-16
Whilst island hopping with Team MavEtJu we popped into Fort Denison to collect a couple of GCA caches. This was a nice easy find and we hung around long enough to hear the 1 o'clock cannon pop.
