Description

Official name of this Trig Station as per NSW Department of Lands is: St Johns Camden.

Serial number is: TS10092

Last Inspected on: No Data.

Appears to be a passive trig. Makes sense to use this spire as it towers over the surrounding area.

We visited Camden in the middle of today and whilst there, visited St John's Church. This church certainly has a very impressive spire and we could see how it was declared a trig point as it is visible from afar. The required photo has been added to the Gallery. Thanks for the cache.

Out caching with ziggiau on this beautiful Boxing Day. We made the area around Warragamba dam unsafe and had a great time! All the best for 2018 for all the COs!

"What is that blue icon?" "It's a trigpoint." "You think it's this church?" "Most likely, take a picture and we'all check it out later"

Oops, took a wrong turn in Camden but ended up finding a mighty looking church. Cathedral, no, trig point, yes! As you can see from the time on the clock, we even had the bell toll for the hour.

Geocaching Australia (GCA) Cache Find Number 1296 - 14324 overall cache finds.

Found while heading home to Canberra today during a work trip up in the Penrith region. While I mainly looked for GC caches, when an easy GCA cache comes along we go for that as well. Trigs are particularly nice to track down and find. I was very happy when they became part of the GCA cache family. Its especially satisfying if you have made a big climb up for one ! I have also now joined dragonZone in Clan Cerberus, so there are more reasons to find those GCA caches. Its interesting to find the many different types of trigs. From the traditional metal legs and vanes, to the concrete base with vanes, to the ones on top of water tanks (especially the red ones !), as well the new CORS type. When you look on a GCA map and see all those hundreds and hundreds of blue 'Z's it shows just how many there are out there. Shame so many are on private property and cannot be accessed at all. So as far as I'm concerned every trig that can be found and photographed is a real bonus !

The trig was quickly 'found'. Piccie taken and posted. Lovely old Church with a Spire/Trig !

Thanks Geocaching Australia !

#GA1257 - 18:40; After collecting a few caches around Moss Vale, Bowral and Berrima, Sol de lune and I headed across the highway into Wollondilly for some trig hunting. Sadly, Warragamba Dam had closed for the day, so we set off further north. Passing through Camden when we stopped for me to grab this church spire trig. I enjoy these ones as they usually involve beautiful old buildings like this one. TFTT Geocaching Australia Very HappyClan Cerberus

Collected a few trigs while on a work trip to Sydney. This was one and a nice building to hold it up.

Out for a day of caching in the area. Trigs are a nice bonus.

Out with Team Merlin and found a few trigs while out and about.

25-Nov-16
Spotted this one with JJCC from down in the main street...our second church spire trig - the first being St Matthews Anglican Church in Windsor. Well worth the visit.

This is the second church spire trig I have seen. The other was in Carcoar. I have been to this church before to find a GC cache, but that was probably before I was finding many GA caches. A great place to visit.

Down in Camden after some overtime, a bit of caching was in order after the job finished. Grabbed the nearby GC trad then stopped to photo the church spire on the way back to the car.
