We are enjoying an (almost) sunny day after a pretty sold rain event by checking out some trig points around Lake Macquarie.
These can be seen from plenty of spots around here but we thought (in the spirit of trigging) it would be better to get onto the power plant grounds and get a decently close shot.
Dad took a wrong turn a year or two ago after a scout camp and ended up in the staff carpark, and never ended up getting a knock on the door so we knew it was possible.
A quick drive on a Sunday morning followed by a quick photo and a quick exit.
Mission accomplished!

Another day of trig hunting around the west side of the lake. Cloudy and wet start to the day, but turned out a beautiful sunny winters day
One of the many trigs we have found in our travels.

After all the rain that we have had around Sydney over the last few days it has been good to have a bit of nice weather today. Decided on a drive up the Central Coast & Lake Macquarie after some of the trigs along the way where there are a few clumps around. In the end I got to 25 trigs after that there was a long drive and I ended up getting home at about 8pm.
The twentieth one I looked for was Eraring Chimney North in Lake Macquarie district
Thanks for the trig took the required photo

#GA2751 - 12:35; Day six of the 2018 Oz GeoMuster mission with Sol de lune. After a night in Kempsey, the plan for today was to cache southward through Harrington, Crowdy Head, Forster Tuncurry and then in to Sydney, in particular Rockdale and Cronulla to set up for an assault on a series of puzzle caches tomorrow morning. After another early start we soon found ourselves in Harrington, then on to Crowdy Head for the trig and the lighthouse out there. After checking out the views in Crowdy Head, it was back to the highway for a while before taking the turn off for Forster and a couple more finds. Took the tourist drive back out of town, emerging near Bulahdelah and then south along the highway back to Lake Macquarie to collect a couple more caches on the way past. Made our way to the carpark to grab a snap of this trig and the other one slightly to the north. TFTT Geocaching Australia

Day 6 of the Sol de Lune / LuckyL10n great northern escape. Or better put, a run up the NSW coast after attending the Morisset event.
After an overnight stop at Kempsey and a visit to Crowdy Head and Forster, this was our next stop.
Managed to park in the staff car park and grab the required photos.
Thanks for yet another...in this case...pair of trigs.

Oz Geo Muster weekend Easter 2018. The third day of the Mega was the day to head home, so before the final event I stopped past here to get a picture of these two massive chimneys.
Thanks

By the time we noted the sign explaining we weren't allowed to drive up the road to the station, we couldn't reverse back or turn across the double line, so we had to proceed - right to the power station gate. Great spot for photos.....

not quite as visible as the south bit the photo was taken from a close as the public is allowed. what is this nanny state stopping strange people from getting to close to power stations
A quick view from the train on the way to Newcastle, very impressive set of chimneys these, as is the power station.
