Receiver Type: LEICA GRX1200GGPRO

CORS Trig, collecting geodetic data from GNSS (Continually Operating Reference Stations).

CORSnet-NSW is a precise positioning service that gives users access to fast and accurate positioning and guidance solutions across NSW. In recent years, precise positioning and guidance systems have emerged as useful tools across a variety of applications such as:

• Surveying

• Agriculture

• Construction

• Emergency services

• Mining

• Scientific research

• Asset management

CORSnet-NSW uses the latest Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technology to provide an accurate spatial reference network for NSW and support the growing number of precise positioning and guidance applications throughout the State.

How does it work?

The service is delivered by a network of permanent GNSS receivers – known as Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS) – that are strategically located across NSW. The CORSnet-NSW network continuously observes and corrects satellite navigation signals in order to achieve international standard, high accuracy positioning data for NSW. The data is streamed to users via a wireless internet connection.

We were down here for some Wizard of Oz antics, and a triple trig hill couldn't not be visited!
This was a fun CORS, at first we spotted what turned out to be a sewer vent, then spotted what we were sure was the CORS, we're glad to see roger agrees! Smile

Walking around Wyong, and found the couple of caches I was after. I like the (first) photo, it looks like the device is smoking or some such. TFTC! Very HappyClan Cerberus

After all the rain that we have had around Sydney over the last few days it has been good to have a bit of nice weather today. Decided on a drive up the Central Coast & Lake Macquarie after some of the trigs along the way where there are a few clumps around. In the end I got to 25 trigs after that there was a long drive and I ended up getting home at about 8pm.
The eigth one I looked for was Wyong CORS
Thanks for the trig took the required photo

CORS are a nice easy and safe option. I was looking for some lunch, but nothing around here on an Easter Sunday.

29-Mar-18
LOTS of traffic today, but not here. I was able to park easily. TFTC.

03-Jul-17
Almost a lunch a stop on our way through to Queensland. Managed a park outside the building and soon had the CORs in sight. Photo was snapped and it was off to a nearby group of 3 trigs. Cool.

Thanks for another CORs....

One of those frustrating CORS that disappears the closer you get to it. Tried this one from a few different approaches but ended up in a car park above the building which made me a bit higher but further away. The side entrance showed it better but then the trees get in the way. Parking was difficult here too with the car parks only for council employees and No Parking signs on the roads. Thanks.

As we came south today from Newcastle to Sydney, we called into Wyong and located the CORS. Two photos have been added to the Gallery: Mrs y'stassie with the CORS antenna up and behind; a closer view of the CORS antenna. Thanks Geocaching Australia for the cache.

20-Feb-17
I am attending a conference in Wyong but managed to duck out in the 12-seater bus to pick up a few items from the shops and grab a few caches. The traffic is very busy but I had no problem parking the bus and walking down to grab this trig. TFTT

A relatively quick find with teamMerlin on a short visit to Wyong. Walked right into the carpark for this one.

14-Oct-12
Out with Spikeymikey and we new exactly where this was but were a bit hesitant to stand there and snap a photo of the Council Chambers, that's a bit suss, especially when I run past there every morning in my balaclava.

Caching with TheHeadChef.
It always seems suspect to be taking photos of public buildings.
In some other countries you would be arrested for it!!

18-Sep-12
Out today for a short Trig raid in Wyong.
This CORS station is easy to see from the street over the main entrance of the local council building.
