CORS station, collecting geodetic data from GNSS (Continually Operating Reference Stations).

CORSnet-NSW is a precise positioning service that gives users access to fast and accurate positioning and guidance solutions across NSW. In recent years, precise positioning and guidance systems have emerged as useful tools across a variety of applications such as:

• Surveying

• Agriculture

• Construction

• Emergency services

• Mining

• Scientific research

• Asset management

CORSnet-NSW uses the latest Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technology to provide an accurate spatial reference network for NSW and support the growing number of precise positioning and guidance applications throughout the State.

How does it work?

The service is delivered by a network of permanent GNSS receivers – known as Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS) – that are strategicallylocated across NSW. The CORSnet-NSW network continuously observes and corrects satellite navigation signals in order to achieve international standard, high accuracy positioning data for NSW. The data is streamed to users via a wireless internet connection.

This one can be seen from the southern end of the carpark adjacent to the Ex Servos.

Logging oldies!

14-Dec-20
On our way home from Batemans Bay after a great 5 days caching, we managed another 10 trigs today as we went.... tricky to see up close, we got our image from the carpark to the south.

06-Sep-20
Out for a Sunday drive with Just a cacher and decided to drop in and grab a cache or two as we passed by. Park in the southern carpark for an easy view.

A quick find here today and thanks for the CORS

Out for a drive today and decided to drop in and grab a cache or two as we passed by. If you come from the south you can clearly see the CORS.

A quick find here today

Cooking up a cuppa to have my aldi cookies with whilst parked across from this CORS. I walked right around it but couldn't see any distinguished CORS looking features. Checked the gallery and everyone seems to have a photo of the front of the building so I joined in.

27-Dec-19
Just have to find the right of the building.

17-Jul-19
A very quick find before leaving Nowra CBD, needed to get a little higher in the car park to spot it.

Yes this one is difficult to see, went to the far end of the rooftop car park to snap it.

16-May-19
On our way home after a school soccer match in Nowra today.

Slight detour for a quick park and snap.

18-Jan-19
Way too hot to get out of the car today, so thanks for the tip about the car park.

08-Nov-18
Late today we located the Nowra CORS on top of a multi story building. The antenna was just visible on the roof provided you stood sufficiently far back. Two photos have been added to the Gallery: the first shows Mr y'stassie with the antenna on the building in the background; the second shows a closer view of the CORD antenna. Thanks for the cache.

I could see this from the car park at S34° 52.476 E150° 36.279. TFTC.

08-Apr-18
passing through Nowra today knowing there was a CORS I stopped. After a short stroll I found a vantage point to snap it - it is the pimple on the roof located in the middle of which is why it was difficult to get it

Best spot to see this one is from the car park to the south of the building. Just managed to see the top half of the CORs...

11-Jun-17
While I went to the nearby supermarket for a few supplies Mr Beetle wandered off to try and spot this one.
It was a solo effort and the photo is taken looking in to the sun.
Lots of cockatoos were resting on all the window ledges here which was unusual.
Thanks.

14-Jan-17
Very hard to get a good look at this one. The car park was the best spot I could find for a view of it.

15-Dec-16
With my work done in Nowra, there was some time to have a look around the area. So I popped over to this one and grabbed a selfie or two.
Definitely one of the toughest CORS to photograph. Maybe I should have brought the drone.

05-Aug-16
Heading south to move house and decided to collect some Trig Points on the way.

22-Mar-16
On a Jervis Bay trig seek with rogerw3 ...

Last of the day - and a long way from home - and the 'mushroom was all for a quick snap of the wrong structure. A more determined and thorough rogerw3 ignored the pleadings and resolutely marched the street side till a proper viewpoint was gained. (Hmmm, to self, that wasn't so hard.)

last Trig for the day, with whitemushroom doing the driving duties. Took us a while to find the right angle but the end of the car park on the side of the NSW government building is the spot to make out the top of the CORS station.

Been meaning to do this one for a while now, Finally got to it.

10-Jan-16
Unable to 'touch' this one, but with a little extra 'elevation' by going up a long flight of steps to the south I was able to see the 'mushroom-shaped' dome of the CORS. Photographed @ 1105; then on to another Geodash, and some more trigs.

#GA611 - 07:50; I had spent the night in Nowra and drove into town to check out breakfast options. not much on a Sunday it seems! Parked in a convenient carpark and took a snap of what might have been the CORS, retreated to the geomobile in the drizzle, then did a circuit of the retail area. Just as well, as I was able to spot the actual CORS as I approached from the south. I had been too close to see it perched up top earlier. Stopped, grabbed the picture of the right fixture, then it was off to the Golden Arches for brekkie. TFTC Geocaching Australia Very HappyClan Cerberus

I had to resort to PAF for this one (and the next one) when we got half way to Nowra and I realised I hadn't downloaded the co-ordinates! Luckily rogerw3 was kind enough to text me the correct locations and we snapped a photo before the sun set

GCA 869 - 8108. In the Jervis Bay area for a weeks work.

Did a lovely Sunday meander around the region. Found another CORS to add to the collection.

TFTC !!

On an overnight trip to Kangaroo Valley and Nowra, Here I had to walk around for ages to get an image of the CORS. I hope it is the right thing. Thanks

Spotted while in town for a while.
Not many visitors here.

Indeed a bit tricky to spot. Easy if you are approaching from the south, but hard to get a spot out of the car there!

My initial searches for this one were unsuccessful as I was too close but today saw it from the Coles carpark. Have purchased a super zoom which came in handy.
