Logs
we are on our way home from the mega in Canberra and stopped here for the cache TFTC
Exploring around Maitland for the day and grabbing some caches as we go. A nice quick park and grab which was visible from quite a way away. Some great older style buildings in this part of town.
Well that wasn't much fun. Monty didn't know about all the one way streets here. My fault I guess. I must remember to update him. Arrived here in the end and now to go back south as I think that I have caught up on all the ones I meant to do today. TFTT Geocaching Australia

Nice to see something a bit different when it comes to trigs. And there is another one!

Found this on an overcast but warm Saturday morning with my Geo-daughters

Since I opened GCA to log a nearby cache, I figured I might as well do a couple of others nearby before moving on. Here's town hall pic.
#GA2662 - 12:30; Day three of the 2018 Oz GeoMuster mission with Sol de lune. After a day hitting the geoart trail put out for the muster with Sdl and albida33 yesterday, today was all about finding GCA caches and perhaps picking up a dragonZone or two in the process. The plan for the day was to start in Morisset (naturally enough), work our way around Lake Macquarie and in to Newcastle, then on to Maitland and Abermain before heading back to camp. There had been a change of plans when there was a heavy overnight fog which left our tarps quite wet, so we decided to hit the trail, then return to camp to collect our swags once things had dried out later in the day, before heading for points north. We had finished collecting trigs around the lake and the suburbs of Newcastle and had now reached Maitland. A quick stop for me to grab a snap of this trig as Sdl had grabbed it on a previous visit. Spotted this one as we were driving towards and being on the doomed roof of the Post Office building, that was where the required photo was snapped. Need that distance shot to great the pole in.

After negotiating our way through the narrow streets including many one way ones we finally arrived at the back of the building where we found a suitable place to park the van. There are certainly some beautiful older buildings in Maitland and this was another one of them.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Visiting Maitland for the Steam Fest and grabbed this trig whilst walking through town.
Geocaching Australia (GCA) Cache Find Number 10278- 10218 overall cache finds.
Found during a Newcastle/Maitland caching run. While I mainly looked for GC caches, when an easy GCA cache comes along we go for that as well. Trigs are particularly nice to track down and find. I was very happy when they became part of the GCA cache family. Its especially satisfying if you have made a big climb up for one ! I have also now joined dragonZone in Clan Cerberus, so there are more reasons to find those GCA caches. Its interesting to find the many different types of trigs. From the traditional metal legs and vanes, to the concrete base with vanes, to the ones on top of water tanks (especialy the red ones !), as well the new CORS type. When you look on a GCA map and see all those hundreds and hundreds of blue 'Z's it shows just how many there are out there. Shame so many are on private property and cannot be accessed at all. So as far as I'm concerned every trig that can be found and photographed is a real bonus !
A nice quick 'find' of this Trig. Piccie taken and posted. Now for some shopping !

After Finding Maitland B we stopped off for the Bridge Over Troubled Traffic cache, then came along for this TP. Was able to get a slightly better photo this time.
