Description
Carawatha TS10153
Official name of this Trig Station as per NSW Department of Lands is: Carawatha.
Serial number is: TS10153.
Last inspected on: November 1975.
Elevation is: 692 meters.
Trig is a concrete pedestal with mast and vanes, visible from the road.
A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.
Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.
These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.
You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.

Out and about caching around Bathurst and found this trig. TFTT
Well hubby knew I had to geocache and also knew that the dZ game was important to me so he got a ride to Orange to measure up shop for a job while I drove around collecting trig points and stations. One was an obelisk, one was closed off behind houses with only a small gap to see it, and 7 of them were a test line. I wish I was allowed to climb to the obelisk to see what it was for, but sadly no, it appeared to be private property all around.
Well I had a great time collecting lots of dragonZone points, I mean trigs. wink wink.
Go Griffin!
Up doing the northern section of TRLT series, and I stopped on the way through for this trig.
TFTC !!
One of many already logged by rogerw3 but on the list for the 'mushroom - some access on a side track but still limited to a view by the private lands fencing.
Thanks.

Found today while on an expedition to the Bathurst area with rogerw3. We figured that the trig was located on private property, so had to content ourselves with long-distance photography! The black vanes were very clearly visible from the road, but my iPhone camera didn't do a very good job of recording the fact . . . This photo only shows a tiny black spot on top of the hill!
This Trig is in the middle of a paddock but easily visible from the road on top of the hill.
Very hazy day made for blurry photo!
