A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.

A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.

Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to access.

These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.

To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.

The original collection of trig points has been sourced from Geoscience Australia and may contain inaccuracies.

Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on 'Log this Cache' and placing an 'Archived' log on the Geocaching Australia website.

If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty/terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably. Vandalism of the cache description or other information will result in your account being terminated.

I took the right hand trail, which took me down to the waterline. Steps going back up were easy to find. I took the same route back. Short but enjoyable walk.

We thought this one may have been a little difficult to access but approaching along the shore from a nearby GC cache was quite easy.

After a visit to the Art Gallery and then Dobell House (home of the William Dobell, painter) we finally made it to the end of the road to begin the bushwalk to this trig. Dancing
We followed the Botany Trail which ended at the top of a rocky cliff. We could see our target... a yellow pedestal on the tip of the rock platform below us.
So we made our way down to the rock platform through the boulders.following a rough, and in part steep, path. But it is quite 'do-able'. We think it's at least a. 2 Terrain.
The view across the lake from here is so tranquil in the late afternoon light.
Thanks Geocaching Australia.

Belatedly logging this Note [14/1/2018] as I had just found the photos from December 2013, as I was going through photos on my current camera for December 2016, and adding waymarks where appropriate.
After I had been to a Christmas party for my sister at Stockton, I was sick of the HEAT - 43°, and planned on getting to somewhere a bit cooler (the Blue Mountains) while on a couple of mid-week days off. While checking out my GSAK Trig database I had noted that I hadn't posted the photos that I had taken back in 2013, so thought that I would come along and get a few more. Took some photos of the Track signs at the picnic area, and got to the trig at 1615, Wednesday, 14 December.
So will add some photos from 2016, as well as VERY LATE addition of photos from 2013, to that entry.
