Serial number is: TS10921.

A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.

A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.

Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to access.

These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.

To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.

The original collection of trig points has been sourced from Geoscience Australia and may contain inaccuracies.

Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on 'Log this Cache' and placing an 'Archived' log on the Geocaching Australia website.

If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty/terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably. Vandalism of the cache description or other information will result in your account being terminated.

Lady novo and I enjoying a nice walk along the the Green Point Foreshore Reserve at the northern end of Lake Mac. Not sure anymore if these are actual trig points or just elaborate survey markers as I'm not sure how they would mount a trigonometric survey instrument apparatus to these structures ...but we'll take it. Couldn't make out the actual survey number for the bird poo at GZ. Lady no had a reluctant photo with the trig lol. TFTC.

Walked the parkrun course in Green Point Reserve, parkrun still in lockdown in NSW, and the path goes right by the Trig / survey mark. A short detour for a couple of photos then we were off just as a heavy rain shower arrived. TFTC 2BluFish Cool

Down in Newcastle to 'catch up with' the older son, and found a couple of caches, and got a couple of trigs as well. Could see what I thought was Eleebana TP, but at that time I didn't have my camera with me.
Found a couple of caches just on the walk to this one. GREAT!
A 'typical' PWD trig found around Lake Macquarie. Found @ 0900

Geocaching Australia (GCA) Cache Find Number 1033 - 10235 overall cache finds.

Found during a Newcastle/Maitland caching run. While I mainly looked for GC caches, when an easy GCA cache comes along we go for that as well. Trigs are particularly nice to track down and find. I was very happy when they became part of the GCA cache family. Its especially satisfying if you have made a big climb up for one ! I have also now joined dragonZone in Clan Cerberus, so there are more reasons to find those GCA caches. Its interesting to find the many different types of trigs. From the traditional metal legs and vanes, to the concrete base with vanes, to the ones on top of water tanks (especialy the red ones !), as well the new CORS type. When you look on a GCA map and see all those hundreds and hundreds of blue 'Z's it shows just how many there are out there. Shame so many are on private property and cannot be accessed at all. So as far as I'm concerned every trig that can be found and photographed is a real bonus !

A nice quick 'find' of this Trig while doing the nearby Earthcache. Piccie taken and posted.
