Description
A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.
A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.
Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.
These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.
To log this Trig Point post a picture of yourself touching the tower, extra points if it's while your on the top platform.
ST82 is the tower

thanks for the trig.
Awesome long tall tower.. thanks for show us here...
Today, some 30 something years later, I returned to the tower.
Lets just say that an irrational fear of heights is just that - irrational. So irrational that I didn't even make it to the top. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that the steps flex A LOT, the step height is just a bit on the short side, the steps aren't level, you can see right through them and when exactly was all this woodwork replaced last? I did get a picture of me touching the tower at the highest point I made it to, and one outside just to be sure.
I doubt I'll ever go there again, except for a meal, which I indulged in after my abortive attempt.
Give me a rope securely attached to an anchor point and a harness and I'll be fine.
Really different from the four posted sign with a circle on top, but certainly worth visiting.
There was a bit of confusion about what the trig was so modified the cache description after you found it.
I accept your find and congratulation on the FTF.
Got this one on the way home from a trip to Marrawah.
Have been here many times before and have even climbed to the top.
Love the old house next door.
My visit this time occured at 1725hrs.
Guess you always meant for a shot of the Tower to be the claim to the find and that's what I've done.
Great cache and thanks for the *FTF*
Cheers OldSaint.

There is nothing on the first page of information about markers but the Location/Reference Mark diagram states "82 CENTRE OF MASONARY SHOT TOWER AT TAROONA". There isn't any reference to a disc or other object. Hence, we would take the trig point as the centre vertical line of the Shot Tower at the base and that a photo of the Shot Tower with your GPS would be sufficient to claim a find.
