Serial number is: TS3782R.

Last Inspected on: No Data.

Elevation is: 356 metres.

A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.

Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.

These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.

To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.

The original collection of trig points has been sourced from Geoscience Australia and may contain inaccuracies.

Found on a quick trip up the mountain. The kids were very impressed that this trig had its own tower to live on.

Up on the Central Coast catching up with family at Lisarow. After lunch headed to the beach collecting some GC caches as well as some trigs along the way. Caught up with some of our regular caching crew who were also close by this afternoon. Nice easy one - trig number eight for the day.

#GA3015 - 12:00; Headed for home on the last leg of our trip to the Gold Coast. After spending the night in the Hunter Valley, we had breakfast in Cessnock and decided to take the scenic route to Sydney through Wollumbi rather than the highway. I noticed this trig wasn't far away as we passed through Central Mangrove, so decided to stop for it. Made our way along the track to GZ and grabbed an easy snap. 1735, while I had been here a couple of weeks (or was it just days) ago, it was at night time, and I was unable to get a photo of the elevated trig station.
It is a steel post with attached vanes, on an elevated platform, inside a cyclone mesh fenced off area, beside a 'radio' / telephone transmission tower off George Downes Drive, Central Mangrove.
Initially 'sourced' off a 1st ed. map of Mangrove by calculating a Grid Reference, the actual trig is shown on the map as 356 m.
Took a couple of photos, and headed off.
