A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.

A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.

Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to access.

These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.

To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.

The original collection of trig points has been sourced from Geoscience Australia and may contain inaccuracies.

Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on 'Log this Cache' and placing an 'Archived' log on the Geocaching Australia website.

If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty/terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably. Vandalism of the cache description or other information will result in your account being terminated.

Dropped in to find this one as part of a caching mission for States of the Nation 2017-18.

An easy drive up to it sort of find. Look closely to the right of the shot and you can see Pejar P2 as well!

I have my own GC cache hide nearby and had no idea about GCA when placing that cache. So much so that I didn't even notice this one when I was last out here or its other two mates. How obvious are they when you go looking?? I love being out at Pejar....it is so relaxing.

Second day of caching in the Goulburn/Crookwell area. The weather is perfect, nice and clear and low twenties, all you can wish for caching. Again a lot of nice caches and a few I missed yesterday, all finished at the event at the historic waterworks. Then rushing back to the Illawarra to make the home event there!
Thanks to all the cache owners for putting out the caches, keep up the good work and nice to have met a few of you last night.

On a quiet weekend I decided go for a drive in the country. I mostly spent the day driving from Goulburn to Blayney. I managed to see many great spots along the way before spending the night at Blayney. On Monday I headed home with only a few cache stops along the way.

Thanks.

#GA988 - 08:10; Out on a day run from Canberra to Blayney via Crookwell and return with Sol de lune, primarily to collect caches in the History of..... series and anything else along our route, including a few trigs. This was our first trig stop for the day and we were able to drive right up to within a few metres of the trig. They don't get much easier than that. The happy snaps taken, we headed off. A nice drive in the country with Tanso to grab some caches. The weather was freezing and eventually we arrived at the dam. It didn't long to locate this one, after dodging all the kangaroos, rabbits and hares, and a quick snap was grabbed in the headlights of the car.

I found Pejar trig and thought it must be a test line to do with the dam construction so looked across the water and spotted this one. Drove into the car park and towards the boat ramp to get to GZ. Just as easy to reach. From there I spotted what could be P3 in the paddock across the road.
