Description
A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ and to photograph it.
A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station or in this case a Triangulation Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.
Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.
These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.
To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.

This one was quite special, I found it sometime between 1-3am in the morning, and it was -3 Degrees!
This was because I had to take someone to Woden Hospital nearby and had some waiting time!
So found this trig whilst finding the nearby cache Swinger Summit (GC4VFF2)

Thanks!
TFTT and the momentum.
Thanks Geocaching Australia.
Visited today and grabbed a photo.
I did at first think the same thing. While it does have the poles similar to a sectional control the post does not have a 2 alpha and numeric code like described in the cache you linked. The photo on my log doesn't show it to well but the posts say "Swinger".
Also according to ACTmapi it is designated as "MC - Swinger". Other trigs are labelled MC. Sectional controls are labelled SC on the ACTmapi.
Even the plaque calls it a triangulation station which as C@W pointed out on the ACT forums (http://forum.geocaching.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=18541) is another name for a trig station.
At this stage I'm still going with it's a trig. Although if it wasn't for actmapi and the plaque I would think it was just a stupidly labeled sectional control point

Photo to come.
THanks for the easy trig
