Description

Find and Photograph the Trig Point.

Official name of this Trig Station as per NSW Department of Lands is:   ?
Serial number is: TS 10492
Last Inspected on:  ?
Elevation is: 1 metres.

A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.

A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon.
It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.

Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape.
Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to access.

These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.

To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.

The original collection of trig points has been sourced from Geoscience Australia and may contain inaccuracies.

Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on 'Log this Cache' and placing an 'Archived' log on the Geocaching Australia website.

If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty/terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably. Vandalism of the cache description or other information will result in your account being terminated.

With most of the clan heading down to Sydney to see the Gruffalo with Pop, Dad and one of the boys took the chance to mop up some of the trig points around the lake.
After our attempt at the old stone wharf was turned back by the masses of cars in the area for a sporting event we headed up and around the water for this trig point.

A nice gentle walk leading to a pleasant view of the lake, with some slight bush bashing at the end.

It was the first day of school holidays, and what seemed like one of the first sunny days for an age, so we jotted down a list and headed down the western side of the lakes. We had a great day, managing another 4 trigs, with a dozen or so GC caches as we went.
The kids weren't that thrilled about another 400m or so each way to this one, but it was less mushy than most walks today! They did love driving through some 'water over road' on the way back.

Was this way today for the funeral of my cousin – taken way to young – for me after service & wake I couldn’t just drive home – needed a trig or 7 to complete. Taken my sister along for the ride – my moto its not about the destination but the journey getting there.
Parked & did the walk to the point – interesting at the point even someone has placed a garden chair here – many thanks

With a day off, what better way to spend it than to get out and find some unfound trigs. Thanks GA, love the trigs.

After all the rain that we have had around Sydney over the last few days it has been good to have a bit of nice weather today. Decided on a drive up the Central Coast & Lake Macquarie after some of the trigs along the way where there are a few clumps around. In the end I got to 25 trigs after that there was a long drive and I ended up getting home at about 8pm.
The seventh one I looked for was Tacoma South
Thanks for the trig took the required photo

Found while exploring the lakes area with GrimRaider and Mr Roo. So many pelicans in the lake nearby - they are truly weird birds !

12-Jul-14
An easy find after a pleasant walk and finding the nearby GC cache.
We are unsure that this is a trig as the marker says 'PWD NSW Survey mark'.
