Description

Terranora TS10900

Official name of this Trig Station as per NSW Department of Lands is: Terranora.

Serial number is: TS10900.

Last Inspected on: No Data.

A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.

A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.

Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to access.

These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.

To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.

The original collection of trig points has been sourced from Geoscience Australia and may contain inaccuracies.

Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on 'Log this Cache' and placing an 'Archived' log on the Geocaching Australia website.

If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty/terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably. Vandalism of the cache description or other information will result in your account being terminated.

Had to make this a quick one which was fine by me because I was on route to work. Too close to houses for my liking and there was dog going berserk at my presence. I got an appropriate image though. The first few didn’t work out well but I got one as I was reversing out.

This is a very different one, though it reminded me of a strange one on the south coast of NSW...but it was technically a lighthouse.

What a panoramic view this trig has, which means all these houses have it too. There was a nice cooling breeze today... might have been a bit different a few days later when the wind from the cyclone was blasting in. Shocked

There's some awesome views from some of the streets leading up to the Trig - imagine the view from the top of the trig tower! A quick Trig find on a caching adventure at the Gold Coast.

Well they logged it, so I can now log it too. My first trig point in a nice little spot down the lane.

We were in the area looking for a house. An old house built at the turn of the 20th century. It was supposed to be around somewhere but we didn't find it. However we did find this trig sitting atop a wineglass shaped water tower. The view from the top would be amazing.

Had a small window of time to Ind some trigs on the 'way home' from the Qld Mega 2015, so looked for one easier ones near the border. Photographed @ 0720, tho the neighbour drinking his coffee on his verandah probably wondered what I was up to.
Thanks for finding this one Tyreless

I was driving to Gold Coast Airport having finished work for the day and needing to catch a flight back to Sydney. I spotted this trig from a kilometer or two, perched high on the hill on a water tower. Finding the access route up proved a bit tricky, as did finding the small lane that leads to the trig itself. I had just enough time to take my photos then zip over the airport as the plane was boarding.
