Wandered across from overnight accommodation while visiting Tumut for the weekend. Ignored the assembling RFS dudes from the Batlow crew and grabbed the required shot. Really enjoy the trigpoint caches!

I had been looking for a nearby cache and thought I had looked high and low for it. If only I had looked a bit higher, I would have found this one earlier. It stood out so clearly from where I had been hunting around so unsuccessfully. At least I can claim this one. TFTT

#GA2589 - 11:30; I was headed down to Melbourne to visit the geoaunt in hospital and catch up with the geostudent while I was there. Being in no hurry and seeking to avoid some of the boredom of the highway, I decided that today would be a good opportunity to take a detour and collect a couple of dragonZones which had been in need of a visit and collect a few caches along the way. After collecting a few caches along the highway as a warm up, along with a short detour to the old mine ruins in Adelong, I had reached Tumut and one of the key caches on the 'to do' list for the day. Made my way around in the carpark and spotted the CORS straight away. Almost didn't need to get out of the car to grab some snaps before heading on my way again. Found it a bit confusing leaving the carpark with a bit of one way traffic happening there! TFTT Geocaching Australia Very HappyClan Cerberus

Today we travelled from Jindabyne to Tumut along the Snowy Highway. We enjoyed looking at parts of Australia that we have not visited before, especially parts of the Snowy Mountains Hydro Electric Scheme. When we arrived in Tumut we looked for something to eat and noticed that the Tumut CORS antenna was on the roof of the building next door. The required photo has been added to the Gallery. Thanks Geocaching Australia for the cache.

GCA 1024 - 10179. Found during a trip to Tumut with Sol de Lune.

Always enjoy finding a CORS.

TFTC !!
Geocaching Australia (GCA) Cache Find Number 1024 - 10179 overall cache finds.

Found during a Tumut caching run with Sol de Lune. While I mainly looked for GC caches, when an easy GCA cache comes along we go for that as well. Trigs are particularly nice to track down and find. I was very happy when they became part of the GCA cache family. Its especially satisfying if you have made a big climb up for one ! I have also now joined dragonZone in Clan Cerberus, so there are more reasons to find those GCA caches. Its interesting to find the many different types of trigs. From the traditional metal legs and vanes, to the concrete base with vanes, to the ones on top of water tanks (especialy the red ones !), as well the new CORS type. When you look on a GCA map and see all those hundreds and hundreds of blue 'Z's it shows just how many there are out there. Shame so many are on private property and cannot be accessed at all. So as far as I'm concerned every trig that can be found and photographed is a real bonus !

A nice quick 'find' of this CORS. Piccie taken and posted.

We are the champions! FTF @ 17:00 hours! Plus some extra points for the Clan Cerberus Cerberus Clan! This was published on my birthday, so I guess it's fitting that I get FTF for this. Surprised that with all the DragonZone stuff going on, that no one came to get this one. Anyway, while getting the nearby GC cache, we quickly took a photo of the tripod. A lovely town in the sunset this evening. TFTC GCA!
