After travelling to Broken Hill, today I drove through Young headed home. Stopped to log this. My Tom Tom struggled to navigate here though, believing there were roads where there weren't. But got here eventually. TFTC.

Out for a drive with just a cacher and we decided to drop in and grab a cache or two as we passed by.
A quick grab here and then on our way.

Driving from Bathurst to Parkes and Gundagai, we stopped for as many trigs as possible, we always enjoy the hunt for a CORS.....

Today I was traveling with Luckyl10n, Albida and Sol de Lune on a loop trip from Canberra to Temora and home again through Young. It was a fun and successful day finding nearly every cache we had targeted. This was one of them so TFTC Geocaching Australia.

From my cache notes I was expecting this one to be on the cream building with the green roller doors. Arriving at GZ we couldn't recognise any of the antennas there to be a CORS. Then it was spotted standing alone in front of the building.Have seen them like this before. Thanks.
Whilst in Young this afternoon we visited the Young SES headquarters and located the CORS antenna out in the open, not mounted on a building like most we have seen. The installation was unusual in that it had an identification plaque affixed. Two photos have been added to the Gallery: Mrs y'stassie standing next to the Young CORS antenna; and the identification plate. Thanks for the cache.
With a day off and time to spare before the next thing I have on, I decided on doing the caching trail that goes: Temora, Young, Murringo, Boorowa, Yass and back home through Harden. This trail and picking up some new thongs from ‘Rivers’ lead to a great day out. I started the day with the new tree climb in Young which has been on the list for quite some time and then picked up some trigpoints which has been on my to-do-list for quite some time. After this I went to ‘Rivers’ and then headed out to my next stop which was the mystery cache in Murringo. Next were the caches in Boorowa, Yass for lunch and then head home via Harden. I would like to thank all CO’s for placing the caches I found and for the enjoyment they brought me today.

Started at Bathurst bright and early for a bit of a trip down south, have a few trigs picked up to go after, got a relaxing trip as have to be back home on Saturday see how far I can go & how many trigs I can get photos of on the trip. This was the first stop on the second day was at Young CORS and took the required photo once I found a spot to shoot from. Thanks for the trig Geocaching Australia. An interesting position for the CORS never come across one like it before.

On a return from tenting at Temora for a few days ...
Although entering a compound for SES, RFS and assorted community facilities, the grounds were deserted so it was an easy get up and close encounter with the Young CORS installation.

Geocaching Australia (GCA) Cache Find Number 1196 - 12059 overall cache finds.
Found while on a caching run throughout this region with specimenX and AngelG27. While I mainly looked for GC caches, when an easy GCA cache comes along we go for that as well. Trigs are particularly nice to track down and find. I was very happy when they became part of the GCA cache family. Its especially satisfying if you have made a big climb up for one ! I have also now joined dragonZone in Clan Cerberus, so there are more reasons to find those GCA caches. Its interesting to find the many different types of trigs. From the traditional metal legs and vanes, to the concrete base with vanes, to the ones on top of water tanks (especially the red ones !), as well the new CORS type. When you look on a GCA map and see all those hundreds and hundreds of blue 'Z's it shows just how many there are out there. Shame so many are on private property and cannot be accessed at all. So as far as I'm concerned every trig that can be found and photographed is a real bonus !
The trig was quickly 'found'. Piccie taken and posted. Interesting its outside out in a field.
Thanks Geocaching Australia !

Found 1:55pm with LuckyL10n I went along on a tour of the countryside with LuckyL10n and ladies. Unfortunately the day was a bit marred with the cold weather but we still tried to enjoy it. This was done after a few other caches. the CORs was easy to spot and photo taken.

#GA691 - 13:55; I had sown the seed yesterday with the geohoney that we should go for a Sunday drive through the local countryside and perhaps collect a cache or two along the way. An itinerary was then hastily arranged and the geohoney's friend and MrDamage confirmed for the tour. We had picked up a few caches by the time we reached Young, including the trig near Boorowa, which saw MrD and I get a little damp. It was nice to reach Young for a couple of easy drive bys, including this one. I don't know of too many CORS where you can get so close! TFTC Geocaching Australia

On my last trip north there was not enough time to stop at Cowra, so I decided on a day trip. When I listed all the caches between Young and Cowra I had quite a list I could try to do. So off I went. Thanks.

This was a new CORS since my last visit to Young last summer when I found all the accessible trigs and caches over many visits. This wasn't where I expected it to be but if you get to the Rural Fire Service huts and see a burnt out car you're close. It's not on the building but standing all alone by the fence near the sadly abandoned railway line. First free standing one I've seen.
