Description

A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ and to photograph it.

Official Code: TS5126R

A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.

Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape.
Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to access. This one 'just' needs permission from the land lessee for access.

These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.

To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.

Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on 'Log this Cache' and placing an 'Archived' log on the Geocaching Australia website.

If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty/terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably.

Routing: While there is accommodation available at the Lighthouse, and those cars are permitted, it is generally a pleasant stroll along the bitumen, until you come to the ramp and stairs that take you UP to the lighthouse.

Logs

I was about to write "Now To Morrow was here" and realised I'd changed my name to something that is much harder to type on a phone (but fun to draw in a log - make the now's C long and surrounding the ○ which you then draw a face in and then the 3 looks like Think ) .
So...

I was here.

Out and about. Road tripping to some new places (here) and some places from my childhood.

We've been staying in Blueys Beach and decided to visit Seal Rocks on a windy afternoon. We thoroughly enjoyed the visit, from the walk through the forest, the blowhole and the spectacular views. Enroute I had discovered that there were some GCA caches (making up for the lack of GC caches). We walked all around the lighthouse getting different views, including the attached. TFTT!

We headed to this Lighthouse on a trip up the coast in February 2014. We were camped at Booti Booti NP and had a day trip to Seal Rocks. Great views from here. TFTT

Staying at Treachery Camp and drop by to find the GA caches around the lighthouse. Extremely windy and rainy, but managed to duck out with the team during a mild reprieve in the morning weather. Found the lighthouse trig, virtual and traditional during our stay.

A road trip up in the Great Laked district not been here before but the weather wasn't really nice to be doing caching. In a break in the weather came to looking for the cache and then visited the Lighthouse & found the trig, virtual & the traditional.

We're staying in Pacific Palms for a few days and headed to Seal Rocks this afternoon to check out what there is to see there. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the lighthouse and actually stayed far longer than intended. Found a survey marker while wandering around the place and it prompted me to check out whether there was a GCA cache here ... and there was, 3 of them. TFTC.

While exploring the local area on holidays, I was rather surprised to find that there weren't any caches up here (according to the official GC app). After a while watching whales, I remembered to check the GCA website - and sure enough there were a couple of GCA caches. The photo is of the Giraffee that lives in the nearby cache and the lighthouse.

I have been to the lighthouse several times over the years, including finding "Hey Sugar Loaf" cache just near here; but never realised that there was a couple of trig stations in the neighbourhood.
So came back today after also getting a *FTF* on the Blackfellow trig and got a couple of photos taken by the caretaker.
Top spot
