It’s Tuesday morning which means I am back out strengthening my shoulder. Noticed this Trig nearby whilst I was scouting for potential battleship shots. Popped into grab a pic and then realised I have been here before! Such a dork. Will make sure to log this time so I don’t need to be back a third time!

Nibletricecakes and I targetted this one today for a research task. Will have to come back sometime for the Earthcache.

Whilst in Canberra during our recent trip to the northern island, we visited Geoscience Australia and located the Symonston CORS - certainly a much more elaborate arrangement of antenna than at most of locations we have visited. Two photos have been added to the Gallery: Mrs y'stassie standing by the fence with the CORS antenna on the other side; a closer view of the CORS antenna through the mesh of the security fencing. Thanks Geocaching Australia for the cache.

Out and about today to do some sightseeing and geocaching whilst we are here in Canberra. This was on the to do list. TFTC

What better time to log the Geoscience Australia CORS than at an Open Day. Arrived in the morning to attend a couple of talks, one on Earthquakes in Australia and another on GPS, both quite interesting. After the GPS talk went looking for the CORS. For safety its behind a fence, could see why with the robot moving about...Not sure what is the actual CORS so got them all in the photo...

A bit more fenced than I was expecting. Part of my Scavenger chores for this morning. Cheers

cantanga and I spent our lunch hour at Geology. We found this CORS while completing the Earth cache circuit.
BTW I think my photo of cantanga is lovely, his photo of me however....

So many to choose from. from what I could tell there was 2 on poles one on the ground, one on a robotic arm and possible one covered in a sheet. SO my photo has all (or at least most of them. ZimbaW and I went on a caching run at lunch so nabbed this while walking past to solve the nearby earthcache. I've lost my sunnies so I look a bit silly as the sun was in my eyes.... and that's the story I'm sticking to

30-Jul-15
I popped into this one way to work this morning. Lots of interesting gadgets within the fence. Hopefully I got the right one.

02-Jul-15
Easy to get to. Shame it was raining and getting dark, or we would have spent more time looking about.

It was raining and getting dark, but we were still able to take a photograph of Symonston CORS.

#GA356 - 13:40; Out and about to take advantage of triple points fortnight and this one was on the 'to do' list. I initially went to the wrong part of Symonston, but that was soon sorted and I made my way along a path in familiar territory. Once at GZ, took the snap and I was on my way for a few more. After a few post work caches, there was time to check out two newish CORS. This was first. I have looked at these before, so I am surprised they have not been listed before. Thanks

Headed out after lunch and had to sit about 30 metres away to avoid the dive bombing plovers. Isn't swooping season over.

Anyway, a couple of photo's grabbed and I was off. *FTF*
