Description

Parkview TS7368R

A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.

A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.

Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.

To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.

A hard trig to get in a photo. The close pic with the water tower - geono. but no trig. Photo from the school entry - trig but no geono. School pickup time wasn't the best time either. Uploading the photo with the trig.

Found this one at 09:15 while in a pre-breaky walk this morning. I'd love to get to the actual spot for the views but close enough will have to be good enough. Wink

Thanks Geocaching Australia.

A long weekend brings with it a weekend of camping and caching. fitzy_1965 and I decided to do a loop from Goulburn out to Naranderra, Griffith, Condoblin and back home so I could pick up the last few counties out that way.

Today was heading from Naranderra to Griffith via Leeton. Nice quick park and snap.

Camped overnight at the nearby Showgrounds and drove to this trig first. It is cold wet and rather miserable but I am on my own adventure grabbing as many shires/counties as possible with the odd GCA thrown in for good luck. TFTT Geocaching Australia. Clan CerberusClan Cerberus

I woke up this morning with the smell of smoke from the bush fires. When I went for a look outside, it a dark orange colour and I could barely see the end of the road. With this knowledge, I quickly got my Geo-bag and hopped in the car and drove off in the direction to Leeton. I chose to find the caches around Leeton and Yanco today as there were two FTF’s up for grabs. Also this will also be my first time in Leeton since the 2013 Riverina Swimming Carnival, so I’ll get to see some of the changes around the area. I saw the caches pop up about a week ago and was very surprised that they were still unfound. When I arrived in Leeton, it was a very light layer of smoke and it stayed that way until the last cache I found in Yanco then it started, slowly getting thick but I still had 4 caches planned… so I said ‘screw it, I’ll go get them’! Big Grin After finding these caches I drove home in the now quite thick smoke arriving home which was still the same as when I left. I enjoyed my day out, the places I visited and all the caches I found. I would like to thank all the CO’s of the caches I found, for allowing them to bring enjoyment to me and the rest of the caching community. Big Grin TFTC’s Big Grin

In town for work, so am trying for some caches. Driving by randomly when spotted the trig on top of the water tower. Parked close by, and walked around the base. had to walk to the other side of the tennis courts to be able to view the trig. Took my photos - then walked down the nearby GC traditional for another find.

#GA1399 - 11:25; Day 1 of the Alice Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune and after success with another trig in town, we headed for this one. Second trig in Leeton as LuckyL10n and I headed through town. I guess the water tower was here before the surrounding suburb.

Thanks for another trig.
