Description

Survey marker 6868 on Du Cane Gap along the Overland Track

Getting to Du Cane Gap deserves a geocache as it's a pretty significant walking distance to get here from anywhere. Starting from the northern end of the Overland track generally takes 5 days to get here, from the southern end takes only a day or two's walking depending on which end of Lake St Clair you begin from. Take a photo of the survey marker point, with your gps or yourself if possible to claim the find.

Du Cane Gap is part of the Overland track and Cradle Mountain National Park, and rules apply at certain times of the year that may affect access. Check the parks site and especialy the weather conditions before attempting this walk. You will be in an alpine region and weather can change for the worse at any time of the year, be prepared.
