Description

This trig has vehicle access, but sadly appears to be a dumping ground, so watch where you drive.

A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.

Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape.
Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to access.

These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.

To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.

Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on 'Log this Cache' and placing an 'Archived' log on the Geocaching Australia website.

If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty/terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably.

This was the first of these two trigs that I saw as we hunted down trigs for the current game of Battleships. I almost fell over the nearby one in my excitement this evening. TFTT Geocaching Australia

I decided a weekend dash north to finish my inland NSW counties was in order. The aim was Brewarrina for the two Earth Caches. Day 3. I headed south aiagn, this time via some diry to visit Carinda and Quambone. Then it was back to the bitumen at Gulargambone for a few more caches before returning to Wellington via Dubbo.

I took a short detour to visit this very flat cache, only weeds to to contend with for both. Even thought there are three markers.

Thanks

Day 3 of our journey to Alexandra. Left Nanango Qld on Monday and stayed overnight in Moree. Left Moree early on Tuesday and now it is Wednesday and we are staying in Dubbo till Friday. Collecting GCA hides on the way south as this is the perfect time for me to increase my finds for GCA and my Dragon Zone points. Drove the distance out of town and parked off the road. Walked in past all the animal bones (Sheep) and soon spied the Trig point. Took photo then walked back to the road to continue our mornings plan.

#GA1623 - 12:25; Day 30 of the Alice Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune, albida33 and fitzy_1965. Today was a shorter run from Nyngan to Nevertire, Warren, Trangie, Narromine and on to Dubbo before heading to Parkes for the night. Sdl and I decided to spend the rest of the day in and around Dubbo and left our fellow cachers in Narromine. Another short run out of town, then a walk in the scrub to locate this trig. Spotted another survey plug in the nearby rocks as well. TFTT Geocaching Australia Very HappyClan Cerberus

A short walk from the side of main road – it’s very disappointing that people use this area has a rubbish dump – thanks for up loading this 1.

Found this trig on a topographic map and decided to check if it was accessible. Yes it is!
