Description

A trig point on the top of Corn Hill, along the Corn Hill Road from Mount Bull;er to Mount Stirling.

The elevation is approximately 1626 metres but we didn't take an accurate reading and this needs to be verified.

I ventured here with clickcraftsman on 16th September 2014, in search of another geocache, and discovered this old and abandoned trig point.
it has now been turned into something of a sculpture and adorned with bits and pieces from old bikes. The trail up to the summit, and the trig point, leaves Corn Hill Road below, and is marked by a picnic table and a sign labelled Clancy's Track.

We detoured up to this trig point as part of exploring the new caches on the Woolly Butt track, while attending the fabulous Buller Getaway weekend. Much fun and frivolity was had on this awesome weekend - and up at this trig point too. TFTC gmj3191.

It was a great little trek with Geoff after skiing on the penultimate week of Buller's snow season. It wasn't much but we did walk on some snow on the south side of the hill. Apparently I have bigger feet than Geoff, as I didn't sink in so much. Anyway, because we were after a physical cache, we really did stumble onto this trig. Certainly the best adorned I have come across! In my photo I stood in front of the trig. The other cache is a multi that requires that you identify the accoutrements, so I am hiding them. This is worth the walk from Buller, recommended.

Ron (clickcraftsman) and I decided to come up here this afternoon after a full morning skiing on the spring snow at nearby Mount Buller.
When the snow softened considerably in the afternoon, we decided to turn our thoughts to caching, and came up here looking for GC5MW3x.
We walked down the Stirling track from the village onto the Corn Hill Road, and when we reached the picnic table, turned up the wrong track. After encountering a sign literally reading "Wrong Way" we turned around and found Clancy's Track, which led us up to the summit.
As well as finding the cache we were chasing, we also found this TriG Point.
It has been adorned with old bicycle parts however, it is still largely intact.
Afterwards we walked back down the track, and along Cprn Hill Road to the Skating Rink where we caught the free shuttle back up to the Mount Buller village.
