This trig has been on my radar for soooooo long. For some reason i thought it would be a bit of an epic day to reach it, but in the end it only took about 2.5hr after parking at the bottom of the Convicts trail and taking the firetrail to the ridge, then proceeding with the bushbash. It was nice out there after the fires from last year, and pretty easy going. I went with Tyreless and another Trig-Tragic so we decided to keep going with our bushbashing, and went along the ridge to the north, down to the creek at the end, and back along the ridge to the south to meet with the fire trail again. A good day!

This trig had been on my list for a while now. Today was going to be hot so I made the most of the cool morning and started early. Walked up the Old Great North Road from Wisemans Ferry, enjoying the informative signage as well as picking up a Two Dogs geocache and the engineer's plaque near the beginning of the walk.
It's a pleasant walk with plenty of shade and after the climb at the beginning it's quite level. After about 9.5km I left the track and followed a series of small peaks and saddles for 2.5km with a bit of a climb at the end up to the trig. The off-track isn't too hard - the bush isn't too thick and I just needed to navigate carefully to make sure I picked up the saddles.
The trig is a classic old cairn with the vanes lying on the ground next to it. There is too much vegetation for any views but I stopped for lunch 400 metres away from the trig on my return walk on a very pleasant rock outcrop with views over the valley to the nearby ridges. After that I carefully navigated back to the track, about 2km away, then the return walk which was almost entirely flat or downhill.
