Description
Murrays Hill TS5091
Official name of this Trig Station as per NSW Department of Lands is: Murrays Hill.
Serial number is: TS5091.
Last inspected on: March 13, 1984.
Elevation is: 75 meters.
The mark is described as "circle of concrete in a steel ring". There is a very feint impression of the usual triangle in the center quite worn out and barely there!
A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.
Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.
These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.
To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.

I've never walked this trail before so it was nice to do the loop today. Plus a bonus Trig as well !
TFTC !!
A easy walk in from the gate on the Murrays Hill track ... a first view of the likely GZ had thoughts of a rugged bush bash and seek. rogerw3 had a tad more nous and with more faith than the 'mushroom sought out a 'track' up that led across some well weathered rock formations.
Further in, and screened by the thickish undergrowth, came a chortle of delight as rogerw3 discovered this unusual trig design/layout. The old surveyors who set this one in place deserve credit - it could not have been an easy fit.
Surrounding the trig plate are located various anchor/marker points and nearby a well set SSM.
The encroaching scrub has blocked the stunning views that surround this trig site but it takes only a few steps to take in.
The view from the top is quite breathtaking and you can clearly see several local trigs from there.
