Description

Wagga Wagga EDM Testline - PM58020

The Surveying and Spatial Information Regulation 2012 requires surveyors to verify their Electronic Distance Measuring (EDM) equipment in relation to the State Primary Standard of measurement, in the form of pillared testlines or baselines, at least once each year and immediately after service and repair.

The Wagga Wagga EDM Testline is a set of five trig points: PM58019-PM58022 and TS Tolland. The distance between the first and last one is 534.995 meters +/- 0.6 mm.

This information was obtained from http://www.lpi.nsw.gov.au/surveying/surveying_services/edm_baseline_certificates.

To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and/or yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.

Spent ages working out how to tackle this testline series. The approach suggested by the Garmin was a no go so we drove around until we found an access between some houses to get to this one and the other one on this side of the road.
Mr Beetle waited in the van while I walked up the steps and then across to GZ. From here I could see the 4 testline trigs and the Tolland TS.
Took the photo of this one and then grabbed PM58019 which wasn't far away. Then it was back to the van to try and work out how to get to the rest.
Thanks.

With a 3 day weekend on hand, what better way to use one of them as a day of caching. Big Grin I started my day off by asking [@AngusnmumyAdventures](http://coord.info/PRRD6GG) if they were able to come and they agreed to meetup and come along for the ride in the morning. After the morning of caching we had lunch at the Palm & Pawn over in North Wagga and then we went our separate ways mainly because Angus needed a rest. I then went to get some things from the shops and afterwards went to find some Trig-Points that have been on my to-do-list for quite some time. I quite enjoyed my day out. Smile TB visit on all caches and I would like to thank all CO’s for placing the caches I found today and for the enjoyment they brought me. Big Grin
Today’s Totals:
3 GC Finds
7 GCA Finds

After lunch and a bit of shopping I went to collect these trig-points. They were all easy finds. TFTTP

Geocaching Australia (GCA) Cache Find Number 1264 - 14226 overall cache finds.

Found while on a caching run with Sol de Lune and LuckyL10n in the Wagga Wagga region. While I mainly looked for GC caches, when an easy GCA cache comes along we go for that as well. Trigs are particularly nice to track down and find. I was very happy when they became part of the GCA cache family. Its especially satisfying if you have made a big climb up for one ! I have also now joined dragonZone in Clan Cerberus, so there are more reasons to find those GCA caches. Its interesting to find the many different types of trigs. From the traditional metal legs and vanes, to the concrete base with vanes, to the ones on top of water tanks (especially the red ones !), as well the new CORS type. When you look on a GCA map and see all those hundreds and hundreds of blue 'Z's it shows just how many there are out there. Shame so many are on private property and cannot be accessed at all. So as far as I'm concerned every trig that can be found and photographed is a real bonus !

The trig was quickly 'found'. Piccie taken and posted. A nice run of trigs in this area - happy about that !

Thanks Geocaching Australia !

#GA1346 - 10:18; Out on a caching mission with Sol de lune and fitzy_1965 in the Riverina. The major target for the day was a new power trail to the north of here, but we stopped for a few trigs and other GCA caches on our way through. Parked the geomobile and headed up the hill for the trig at the top and then down along the test line too. TFTT Geocaching Australia Very HappyClan Cerberus

A day trip to Wagga with a LuckyL10n and fitzy_1965 to head along the new power trail, but before that we hit up a few of the trigs. Parked down on the road below and after a short climb, the trig was in the bag.....great to find another test line.

Found on this wet day, although it wasn't raining that much here. The rain waited for later caches and trigs to increase. The Murrumbidgee River is wide and fast at present, and rising. TFTC Team MavEtJu & Geocaching Australia.

After finding TP7317 we continued on our walk to this marker. After talking our photos we noticed we could see the next marker on the hill opposite so knew we would have to cross the road to reach the others in the series.

Found in the quickly gathering gloom of evening with a quick stroll up from where I had parked the car. The survey point was inspected and photographed while mountain bike riders puffed their way up towards Williams Hill. For some extra reason I did not record the next trig point up near the water tank hence no further exploring. I couldn't, the find the actual survey point for the 0.6mm accuracy but darkness had set in while I was stumbling through the bushes. Thanks GPA for listing these survey marks, I think I will bring the Ventures Scouts up here.
