Description

Wagga Wagga EDM Testline - PM58022

The Surveying and Spatial Information Regulation 2012 requires surveyors to verify their Electronic Distance Measuring (EDM) equipment in relation to the State Primary Standard of measurement, in the form of pillared testlines or baselines, at least once each year and immediately after service and repair.

The Wagga Wagga EDM Testline is a set of five trig points: PM58019-PM58022 and TS Tolland. The distance between the first and last one is 534.995 meters +/- 0.6 mm.

This information was obtained from http://www.lpi.nsw.gov.au/surveying/surveying_services/edm_baseline_certificates.

To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and/or yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.

After doing the two on the other side of the main road we again tried to access the 3 over here. The GPS option wasn't a goer so we parked on the main road and Mr Beetle waited with the van while I headed off up the hill.
There did appear to be wheel marks and a fairly well marked dirt road in places but I don't think the campervan would have made it up here.
Thanks.

With a 3 day weekend on hand, what better way to use one of them as a day of caching. Big Grin I started my day off by asking [@AngusnmumyAdventures](http://coord.info/PRRD6GG) if they were able to come and they agreed to meetup and come along for the ride in the morning. After the morning of caching we had lunch at the Palm & Pawn over in North Wagga and then we went our separate ways mainly because Angus needed a rest. I then went to get some things from the shops and afterwards went to find some Trig-Points that have been on my to-do-list for quite some time. I quite enjoyed my day out. Smile TB visit on all caches and I would like to thank all CO’s for placing the caches I found today and for the enjoyment they brought me. Big Grin
Today’s Totals:
3 GC Finds
7 GCA Finds

After lunch and a bit of shopping I went to collect these trig-points. They were all easy finds. TFTTP

Headed to Wagga today so my son could visit his girlfriend. We picked up her and her younger brother and went caching for a few hours. This trig test line was our first port of call. Only got 3 of them as we didn't have time for more climbing. Still great to be outside for a while and the kids loved it.

Geocaching Australia (GCA) Cache Find Number 1262 - 14224 overall cache finds.

Found while on a caching run with Sol de Lune and LuckyL10n in the Wagga Wagga region. While I mainly looked for GC caches, when an easy GCA cache comes along we go for that as well. Trigs are particularly nice to track down and find. I was very happy when they became part of the GCA cache family. Its especially satisfying if you have made a big climb up for one ! I have also now joined dragonZone in Clan Cerberus, so there are more reasons to find those GCA caches. Its interesting to find the many different types of trigs. From the traditional metal legs and vanes, to the concrete base with vanes, to the ones on top of water tanks (especially the red ones !), as well the new CORS type. When you look on a GCA map and see all those hundreds and hundreds of blue 'Z's it shows just how many there are out there. Shame so many are on private property and cannot be accessed at all. So as far as I'm concerned every trig that can be found and photographed is a real bonus !

The trig was quickly 'found'. Piccie taken and posted. A nice run of trigs in this area - happy about that !

Thanks Geocaching Australia !

#GA1344 - 10:12; Out on a caching mission with Sol de lune and fitzy_1965 in the Riverina. The major target for the day was a new power trail to the north of here, but we stopped for a few trigs and other GCA caches on our way through. Parked the geomobile and headed up the hill for the trig at the top and then down along the test line too. TFTT Geocaching Australia Very HappyClan Cerberus

A day trip to Wagga with a LuckyL10n and fitzy_1965 to head along the new power trail, but before that we hit up a few of the trigs. Parked down on the road below and after a short climb, the trig was in the bag.....great to find another test line.

After another short uphill walk we reached this marker and were able to take the required photos before admiring the views. The site looked familiar and we felt we had visited the nearby Tolland trig marker on a previous visit to Wagga Wagga. We enjoyed the peaceful walk before we headed of to Narrandera.

Found after visiting the trig point on the hill. The views of Wagga were surprising from this location were breathtakingly beautiful with the sunset highlighted by the smoke of burning off and the approaching rain change. A great place to visit, thanks GCA for this series and I shall return with Ventures Scouts on navigation activities.
