Description

Seaham EDM Baseline - PM90504

The Surveying and Spatial Information Regulation 2012 requires surveyors to verify their Electronic Distance Measuring (EDM) equipment in relation to the State Primary Standard of measurement, in the form of pillared testlines or baselines, at least once each year and immediately after service and repair.

The Seaham EDM Baseline is a set of seven trig points: PM90501-PM90507. The distance between the first and last one is 867.000 meters +/- 0.5 mm.

This information was obtained from http://www.lpi.nsw.gov.au/surveying/surveying_services/edm_baseline_certificates.

To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.

I was intrigued by the string of trigs that I saw on my geo-map as I drove through the area today, so I detoured here to check them out.

found on a beautiful sunny Sunday morning

What a year 2020 has been! Not really one I feel like celebrating, but the 2020 celebration challenges have made it a little more fun. With these 7 baseline trigs I should have the December challenge complete.

Headed up to Maitland with fitzy_1965 for an extra long weekend of caching.

A nice and easy trig test line was next on the list.

Had myself, (and I do mean MYSELF), and weekend of caching in The Hunter Valley. Lots of trigs and a test line is just a bonus for the count.

#GA2670 - 15:42; Day three of the 2018 Oz GeoMuster mission with Sol de lune. After a day hitting the geoart trail put out for the muster with Sdl and albida33 yesterday, today was all about finding GCA caches and perhaps picking up a dragonZone or two in the process. The plan for the day was to start in Morisset (naturally enough), work our way around Lake Macquarie and in to Newcastle, then on to Maitland and Abermain before heading back to camp, packing up and heading north. There had been a change of plans after a heavy overnight fog which left our tarps quite wet, so we decided to hit the trail while they dried out. We collected trigs around the lake, the suburbs of Newcastle, Maitland and finally Abermain, along with a few GC caches for good measure before heading back to camp to collect our now dry gear, before we headed north for Taree where we plan to spend the night. The fourth of seven trigs we picked up in six minutes as we happily snapped our second testline for the day. TFTT Geocaching Australia Very HappyClan Cerberus

Day three of an Easter trip with LuckyL10n to the 2018 Morisset Mega. Headed up via the northern beach suburbs of Sydney to grab a few trigs and dragonZones along the way. From there it was a trip around the lake to find a good assortment of trigs. A great day out while heading further north.

2nd of two testlines found for the day. This one a bit longer than the one at Newcastle Uni.

Another trig and another dragonZone crossed off. Thanks for the fun....

Love it.... 7 trigs in the one road. The kids ran between them as I followed in the car, I'm not usually so lazy! Smile

After doing number 3 we jumped to the last one and then worked our way back. That was because the parking looked better on the same side of the road as the trigs than the first three.
Thanks.

Still foggy up the road, and on I go to get the rest of the series. Found @ 0724 with a name plate on it.
