We bailed on physical caches in the pouring rain in Orange today, so decided trigs were the answer, and what better spot than a test line....

A very cold day to be out chasing Trigs with GLiSS! We were very surprised when we pulled up at these ones to discover them actually being used for scientific purposes by a man and a group of kids!! Very cool!

Collecting trigs for the battleship game. People were actually using test trigs today - I've not seen that before.

20-Sep-20
Sophoutloud and I spent a few days camping with friends at Hill End and then because of the very wet weather that came in on Sunday night they decided to bail and head home early so we had the day to fill by ourselves so what better way to do that but explore a new area and bag some fresh Trig points around Hill End and Bathurst. I have to say all the Trigs we found today were in Amazing condition, I am not sure wether they get repaired here more often or are just vandalised less out here. Either way it was great to see. cool to see a baseline and a really easy way to bag 7 trigs to get the days tally going

Got very distracted with outdoornut22 on our way back from our camping trip in hill end. I think this is my first base line find. And what an easy way to get a couple of trigs without too much hassle

In town for work, so in the mornings and evening I've been grabbing the odd GC and GCA cache.

14-Jul-19
One of our first tasks this morning was to visit each of the trig points on the Eglinton EDM Basline. Two photos were taken at each survey marker: Mrs y'stassie standing next to the survey marker; and the nameplate on the survey marker. These photos have been added to the Gallery. The survey marker in this instance was PM90405. Thanks for the cache.

There was a BIG reason to go caching today
The dragons are having a May Madness party. A 2 times dragonZone points bonus will be on offer for all valid Geocaching Australia dragonZone caches found, except moveables, for the period Sat 11 – Sun 19 May.
Well I figured I’ll find as many trigs in 1 day as posable & that was 29 of them.
So, for me this was a BIG day of trigging.
No 25 of 29 – this is the 5th of 7 EDM Baseline trigs along here - parked on the side of the road & took the shots –- many thanks Clan Griffin

On a cache run with the team following along a Road Less Traveled...
In Bathurst and stopped to grab some more trigs for our slowly growing collection.

A weekend trip to Bathurst for a church leaders retreat. Mmm a long weekend away from home where there are caches to be found? Yes please! And dragonZone ones that could get me uber points this weekend. Um, yep - try stopping me!

Well hubby knew I had to geocache and also knew that the dZ game was important to me so he got a ride to Orange to measure up shop for a job while I drove around collecting trig points and stations. One was an obelisk, one was closed off behind houses with only a small gap to see it, and 7 of them were a test line. I wish I was allowed to climb to the obelisk to see what it was for, but sadly no, it appeared to be private property all around.

Well I had a great time collecting lots of dragonZone points, I mean trigs. wink wink.

Hill End and Mudgee weekend April 2018. I set out late on Thursday after a small battery issue. I only stopped once before a night at Bummeroo ford. Friday took me to Orange via many spread out caches between Oberon and Bathurst. I spent the night at Macquarie woods. Saturday started foggy and then warmed up. I was heading to Hill end, and did make it, but I had to give up on the Bridal track due to a rockfall. Late in the evening I did find a spot along the Turon river and the very bumpy northern section of the Bridle trail. Sunday had me finishing the TRLT trail from Mudgee to Gulgong and a few missed ones in tyhe middle of nowhere. The last day was a simple drive home from Sofala. A great weekend !

Thanks

Another goal for this two trip was to visit this area again and to see this trigs. Obviously no problems with any of them and I guess it took about 5 minutes to grab all 7. I've they are still used, so maybe one day someone might actually see that.

Anyway, photo's were grabbed and all was good.

Number 5 in the series. Not as fun as climbing a mountain for a trig, but hey!

Headed out on a geocaching weekend through Bathurst and on to Orange with Fitzy_1965.

Day 2 of our meanderings - and next Trig on fitzy's list - a nice quick 7 thanks to this Testline ! Number 5.

Geocaching Australia (GCA) Cache Find Number 1334. Found during Day 2 of a run up to the Oberon, Bathurst and Orange regions with minniek.

A weekend run up through the Oberon, Bathurst and Orange regions to tackle a number of puzzle series, lots of trads, plus a number of trigs as well. Although there were a number of DNFs, in all the caches were nicely placed with good coords. Glorious weather certainly added to a very fun weekend. An early departure on Day 1 with a few quick stops along the way saw us soon at Oberon to start the campaign in ernest. Once that area was cleaned up we headed north to Bathurst and Orange. Day 2 dawned and we hit the road until we got to this one. Love this concept of a Test line ! Seven Trigs for the price of 1 - gotta be happy about that ! Once near the trig of course it was a quick stop for the required photos, admired the views, then it was off to the next one. Photo of the trig attached.

Another nice trig to add to the collection. Really enjoy finding these in all sorts of odd places, including the new CORS type which seem to be popping up in every country town plus the big cities.

TFTC !!
