A trig point I came across while walking

A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.

A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon.

To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.

Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on Log this Cache and place an "Archived" log on the Geocaching Australia website.

What to do on this lovely morning? How about finding the rest of the Geocaches in Coota before I start work this afternoon. I decided on Coota because I knew there was some new caches put out since the last time I was there. It was a nice trip to Coota. I loved the hike/drive around and my lunch (consisting of Buffalo wings and a Gatorade) before coming home. Thank you to CO for the caches I found and for the fun I had today. Smile

This was the first find of the day. A nice quick one. Great views from GZ. TFTC

#GA2096 - 13:05; Out on a day run with Sol de lune to Cootamundra and back to collect a few more in the 'Bushranger' series, a couple of trigs plus some others. After stops near Binalong, Galong, Harden, Wombat and then on to Cootamundra, where we had a lunch stop, it was off to Mt Slippery. Parked the geomobile near the gate and headed along the track to within about 100 metres of the trig. A short sharp climb to the top and after taking in some great views of the town below, grabbed a snap and headed back down to continue the mission. It seems this trig is more popular with ACT cachers than any of the locals! TFTT Geocaching Australia Very HappyClan Cerberus

Out on a day trip around the Coota area grabbing a few caches and this was the next stop. Parked at the gate and took the short-ish walk up to GZ. Great vies of the town and certainly worth the walk to get here. Only 3 finders before us, all ACT cachers as well. Seems like the locals and other GCA cachers aren't fans, which is a pity as it's a neat spot.

I have looked at the beginning of this track a few times, but today I had plenty of time and headed up the nice walking track to the top. Nice view of the area.

Thanks
