Description
A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the centre point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.
Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.
These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.
To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.
The original collection of trig points has been sourced from Geoscience Australia and may contain inaccuracies.

After completing the ready aim fire series we ventured into Swansea to pick up the gca caches in the area for more Ammo for the battleship games.
After initially finding the read dots on rocks we soon located the trig marker buried under the tree litter. TFTC

Found with geoSonA. Pics attached. At the same time KingSmev was fishing a wrecked one wheel missing bicycle out of the sea up and onto the rocks!
Was in Swansea today for a BBQ catchup with a group of Mrs EeePee's long term mates from way back, including Lil Rafa.
We 14 with 4 canines enjoyed our walk down Gordon Street to the boat ramp, then south to nab a couple, then backtracked northward, grabbing this trig, then rounding the point and ended up at the main jetty/pier. We'd run out of time there, so headed back the the shack near Gordon Street, for a cool drink, and then it was off home for us, via fish and chips at Triabunna.
A great spot with great views. THANKS mate.
Many thanks AlbyDangles.
But today it was a nice dry walk to GZ and after a false start we discovered the correct Survey Mark and took our pictures.
Thanks for the cache.
It didn't take too long before we found the first marker after a little more searching we found the other marker with the brass disk. It was then a case of taking a couple of photos before we headed off to get some lunch.
I find the view from this point on a good day to be one of the best in Tasmania.
PS thanks to OldSaint for letting me know I hadn't logged a find on this trig.
Just had to get out and about today; the call of plastic was too strong.
Arrived at the car park after a leisurely drive from the Huon and there was one other vehicle parked awaiting the return of its two muggle passengers who sitting in cuddle fashion on nearby rocks taking in the view.
A small flock of Black Cockies greeted me at the trail head - love these creatures!
After a few false starts at GZ, a find was procured after its "cammo" was removed; enabling me to Saint the cache at 1416hrs.
The walk back was just as enjoyable as was the walk to the cache especially as the cockies were still there - stood still admiring them for some time
A great spot, beautiful views; especially on a day as nice as it was today
TFTC and cheers
