Description

This particular cache consists of only the bronze survey plate which is set in a precast concrete block placed at ground level, but has no trig-station framework above.
The 'Triangulation Station' marker is what makes it a Trig Point, so it's added to the database.

This marker has an associated stamp ID value 78-309

<Driving Instructions>

This is a easy and family friendly drive to trig and is located on "Mount Burnet Rd".
Google-Earth may will show a blue-survey-marker flag attached to a wire fence but neiher of these exist now.
Look for a white-plastic road marker as the trig is located close to it.

<Parking>

There is no designated parking as it's on a rural dirt road, but there's a safe spot just a few metres before the trig which allows for safe parking.

Using the web-based "Survey Marks Enquiry Service (SMES)", the Mark and Alternative names have being acquired.
The official name for this cache is "Gembrook PM 100-Cassiterite"

Dated: 01/08/1978

#GA2164 - 15:40; Day two of a caching run through eastern Victoria with Sol de lune to build on our July trip further to the west. After a night in Traralgon, today sees us head through the Latrobe Valley, Baw Baw, South Gippsland and on to the Bass Coast before heading north through Cardinia, Yarra Ranges into Murrundindi and an overnight in Alexandra. After visits to Morwell, Moe, Darnum, Ellinbank and many kilometres of driving through roadworks, Wontaggi and Newhaven, we were now headed north and away from the coast. This one was also a tad overgrown, but was a bit more easily uncovered for the photo shoot than the previous two! TFTC Geocaching Australia Very HappyClan Cerberus
