A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.

A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.

Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to. These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.

To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.

Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on Log this Cache and place an "Archived" log on the Geocaching Australia website.

If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty / terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably. Vandalism of the cache description or other information will result in your account being terminated.

I was determined to seek this one out and differentiate it from the Jobson Trig. Well, I found it and it can be seen from Murrays Flat Road.

I think it is time to bring the real Boxers Creek trig out of obscurity. It is visible from where Murrays Flat Rd meets the railway line. Yes, it's a long shot, but that's better than claiming the Jobson Trig as this one. There are those that scoff at the long shot, but they still like to claim them with an "I don't agree with it, but everyone else of doing it so..." What did Yoda say? "Do or do not. There is no trig." I think he said something like that?!

This trig appears to be on private property and at this stage is not accessible for cachers to visit. For these reasons the listing is being archived.

If in the future the location does becomes accessible and the trig is found, the listing can be unarchived by logging an 'Unarchived' log.

I can see this on the SIX Map, but I have to agree with Sol de lune that the photos presented are of the Jobson Trig.

Well, I can't seem to find a way into this one. Interesting photo's. The first one is a photo of another nearby trig while the others are the same photo's, taken a few months apart. Will be heading past again soon so will try again.

Found it. TFTC. Glad to tick this one off my list.

I stopped in Boxers Creek Road a few weeks back and my car companion spotted this Trig at the dusk of day. I noticed it wasn't listed on here, and I was going to return and check out the situation with it but every time I passed it was too late. Laughing I was beaten to the post.

I have seen this trig a couple of times as I drove past on the Murrays coach from Sydney to Canberra. GrimRaider and I drove out to Goulburn today to do some cache maintenance and I thought it was time I bagged this trig. I couldn't find it on the GCA map so have created a new listing. Great to add another trig to the list for everyone to grab.
