Receiver Type: TRIMBLE NETR9

CORS station, collecting geodetic data from GNSS (Continually Operating Reference Stations).

CORSnet-NSW is a precise positioning service that gives users access to fast and accurate positioning and guidance solutions across NSW. In recent years, precise positioning and guidance systems have emerged as useful tools across a variety of applications such as:

• Surveying

• Agriculture

• Construction

• Emergency services

• Mining

• Scientific research

• Asset management

CORSnet-NSW uses the latest Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technology to provide an accurate spatial reference network for NSW and support the growing number of precise positioning and guidance applications throughout the State.

How does it work?

The service is delivered by a network of permanent GNSS receivers – known as Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS) – that are strategicallylocated across NSW. The CORSnet-NSW network continuously observes and corrects satellite navigation signals in order to achieve international standard, high accuracy positioning data for NSW. The data is streamed to users via a wireless internet connection.

10-Sep-20
Spotted this CORS hiding behind the front facade of the host structure while others in the party were ambling through the shops. Rather than sit and do nothing, it was a perfect opportunity to nab this Trig!
Thanks for identifying it and drawing it to our attention.
Cheers

A specific trig tour of the Southern Highlands and Kiama area today. One of many.

In the area with Smittengranny and this was the next trig stop. No problems spotting it on the side of the building. After that, it was bite to eat and then back on the road.

09-Jan-19
Out on the hunt for more points in the current game. Travelling with Sol de Lune today on what turned out to be a very long day. Thanks for organising , driving and your company. Especially your patience while I traipsed along behind especially on those long uphill climbs at times. The last one standing in the rain waiting five minutes for me to arrive.
Of course we traipsed around the long way but eventually found. ClappingDancing

This morning we visited Gerringong and whilst in this small town, we located the CORS antenna on the back of the façade of the Town Hall. Two photos have been added to the Gallery: Mrs y'stassie with the CORS antenna in the background; and a closer view of the CORS antenna. Thanks for the cache.

Easy to spot this one at the rear of the Town Hall.

09-Apr-18
Passing through on the way home had to stop for a photo. needed a short walk until it was spied as not visible from the main street we parked on

08-Apr-18
I found a convenient parking spot and went for a wander to find this. I had circled almost the entire building before I spotted it. After this I went for coffee nearby. There is also a little free library outside the Town Hall, and I swapped books. TFTC.

#GA2172 - 15:30; After attending a meeting in Ulladulla, the geohoney and I headed north for Gerringong for the night. Stopped off to collect this CORS on our way through the middle of the town. Looks like a lot of units being built nearby and I guess they won't be cheap! Found a handy park and was able to grab a couple of quick snaps, then off to the hotel. After spending too long over lunch at the nearby beach we noticed some very threatening black clouds approached and decided we had better get a move on and grab the photo of this CORS before the deluge arrived. The CORS was quickly spotted once we drove around to the back of the building. Thanks.
