Description
Not exactly a trig station, but not just a survey mark either.
While trig stations are used for horizontal control, benchmarks are used to establish a vertical datum point.
Located on top of Brown Hill with great views over the city. Best access point is the car park at the southern end of Carrick Hill Drive.
When you arrive at this location, you will notice two marker plates on the ground. The one on the right is the benchmark, and the one on the left is Brown Hill Trig. Choose wisely.
Logs
Not our first visit here, was here back in Nov 2012 when there still stood a trig while hiking the Yurribilla Trail, today chasing a few caches with Mattycat we returned enjoying the views and sore legs

Great spot for a walk, awesome views and three trigs...but you have to go another km for the Wylie TP. Took a bit of digging in the wet grass to spot it.

A bonus trig. Not often there's two at the top of the hill! Image is a bit dodgy for this one. I'll wait until I'm home and can look at it on a real screen before I try posting it.

With some time to spare today and lovely weather for a walk, I decided that it was time to climb a hill, Brown Hill to be precise!
It looks so easy on the map, not very far at all, well that's what it looked like. My legs however will tell a different story tomorrow I think
Got to the top eventually and was rewarded not with one trig but instead tow for the price of one climb. You have got to be happy with that

Two markers for the price of one!
I was expecting to find the elevation stamped on the plate, but it just had a date.
