Description

A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.

NOTE: This is a repurposed listing that had been previously archived as a non trig. (Logs from 2017 are now not relevant.)

As most of the Western Australian trig points no longer have a structure the locations identified as trig points on the various topographical maps have been used with data matching from the GOLA database where available.

Map: Fremantle  (Relocated after work on memorial destroyed original trig location.)

GOLA reference: Fremantle 50A

After a meeting in Fremantle today I had time to grab a cache or two. Found this covered with grass and a bit of scraping and pulling revealed the cover. Very Happy

23-Nov-21
While looking for several other caches close by we found the yellow cover plate for this trig. It was firmly in place so we were unable to photograph the actual marker, just its cover.
Nice spot but a little difficult to access due to road works in the area.

A photo has been added

29-Dec-20
Spent a day out in Fremantle with Mr Z and while he wanted to come here to see the view I took the opportunity to grab a few finds.

28-Feb-20
Walking into the city with frazeydaze we decided that we should try and find this virtual. Once at gz it wasn't too long before frazeydaze had wrestled the kikua away to reveal the cover. TFTVC.

28-Feb-20
Out with oldmorty in search of a trig point. Where to look. This looks like a good spot - and sure enough (after a bit of pull back grass) the trig point is exposed.

09-Feb-20
Searched everywhere for the grass covered plate, but it wasn't evident when visiting today.
Felt I couldn't log this cache as found as no trig plate was spotted!
Cheers

TP grown over but posted photo of lid.

24-Apr-19
The family took me on a drive today and I played on the grass whilst they took some photos of a bit of metal in the ground.

Thanks for the cache.

Did this cache whilst testing the nearby Adventure cache location with the family.

They were setting up for the Anzac Day ceremonies today but ignored us whilst we took the image of the plate over the trig.

Thanks for the cache.

27-Mar-19
A little road trip grabbing GC and GA caches as we go along. This was one of them that we found.

What a moving area to look around and pay respect to those who have served our country

Took us all a few minutes to find the right thing in the grass. Could have done with some gardening tools to get a better picture. Top views from here.

30-Nov-18
Found gz but unable to remove steel cover!

I was fortunate to have an RDO today and thought that I could head out and grab a few GCA caches this morning. I targeted a few virtuals and some Trig points that had been on my to do list for far too long. Cheers for the cache!

Lest we Forget.

Out with Chwiliwr doing a new cache and called in to find this trig point on the way to investigate another one.

Was partly overgrown with grass but soon cleared that off and took an image.

Thanks for the cache.
