Description
Concrete pit where traditional trig once stood, surrounded by 3 posts.
Official Code: TS1615
Official Name: Coonabaraban
A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.
Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape.
Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to access.
These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.
To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.
Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on 'Log this Cache' and placing an 'Archived' log on the Geocaching Australia website.
If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty/terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably.

There are a few ways to get to this point. Coming from the highway straight up would be the hardest and most garbage covered. You can drive up either of the side roads, park your car and follow the tracks in, or if you are game, drive up the tracks. The day I came the last part of the track was blocked off from vehicle access by a tree but there was also someone collecting firewood with a chainsaw nearby, so it may not stay blocked too long.

Thanks for the trig.
A quick find here and a shame that the area is such a dumping ground these days.
Thanks for the trig.
I stared out up the southern street but the track looked a little too 4WDish for me today. I didn't want to get stuck here. Then I paused at the highway and looked up. My knee was in poor condition so there was no way I was climbing that today. So on I went to the northern street, Queens I think. I drove right to the end but people were parked there and collecting firewood so I went back to the powerlines trail. I drove up that to the top of the tail where it was like a cross road and walked the rest of the way from there.
An easy walk along a track from there. Sadly there was a lot of rubbish around the area. Just beyond the trig hole I looked over the steep decent toward the highway and saw a LOT of rubbish smashed up.
