The railway line to Kingaroy was closed many years ago and the South Burnett Council was able to obtain Grant money from various sources to construct a rail trail from Kingaroy to Murgon and the adjoin Council also obtained grant money to continue the Trail to Kilkivan. The eventual aim is to continue the Trail to the East. The trail is suitable for road and off road bicycles as the surface has been completed with a hard compact material. The trail is not fully operational as yet and only certain sections can be ridden.
