Gallery of log for High Flood Markers
Flood marker showing the height of the 1867 flood at Sackville Reach along the Hawkesbury River.
The original Church of England wooden church was built in 1833 and was washed away during the 1867 flood. A new church was built on higher ground and this marker is a reminder of how large and destructive some of the river floods can be.
