Gallery of log for Quest for Egypt
Spotted this Egyptian coffin on a recent visit to the National Museum of Australia in the exhibition "A History of the World in 100 Objects from the British Museum".
According to the information at the exhibition, the hieroglyphs show that the coffin was made for a woman named Shepenmehyt. But once the British Museum received the object, their scans indicated that the body inside was actually an adult male. The coffin is approximately 2,600 years old.
