Gallery of log for Eden Breakwater
I've been meaning to find this trig point for years now - I believe restricted access and our visits to Snug Cove being largely confined to the other jetty were the main factors in its delay.
But tonight I can gladly report that I was here!
We noticed a truck getting filled up with fish from a boat over on this side and couldn't help but investigate.
While the rest of the group looked closer, I quickly hopped over and took the required photos at the trig point in the early moments of sunset.
In the meantime, the others had managed to get chatting with one of the workers who was managing the operation - apparently this enormous semitrailer was being filled with mackerel to be made into food for other fish!
They use the fish to feed the fish...
Quite a Thanos-type affair, innit?
We ended up talking with the guy for a rather long duration; by the time we left, it was well and truly dark out.
What an interesting evening.
