Prior to my trip west I did a little research for trigs that haven't been published (or archived) on GCA. This was one I found online and decided to try and find. I'm glad I made the effort. I haven't found one like this before with a large brick collar. The post may or may not be original. I'd like to think it's part of an historic Astro trig point here, placed in the hole as a freshly cut log, now all dried out and loose in its hole. I didn't think to remove the pole and see what was underneath. I felt a bit awkward being so close to houses so just wanted to get the photos and get out of there.
