Went looking for 'Hungry' trig on the way here but it seems to be a significant bushbash. Had spotted this one on my new topo maps so pushed on to look for it. Pulling into a track where we thought it might be we were surprised to be confronted with a sign on the gate which said "Ellis Trig Trail" which put it beyond doubt. Walked up to the power lines where the track petered out on the rocks. Went to the right through the scrub and found a sad pile of rocks, all that remains of what was probably a nice big trig at one stage. The rocks are tumbling down, we did our bit and put quite a few back but the big ones are for strong lads.
There's also a nearby survey mark and there are some great views of Akuna Bay.
