165402 A Permanent Survey Mark in Seven Hills
The suburb name traces back to Elizabeth Macarthur's "Seven Hills Farm", named because she thought the area resembled the seven hills of Rome.
I've often wondered about the history of the street name and suspect it is named after a Roman matron named Lucretia. In 509BCE Lucretia was raped in her bed by Sextus Tarquinius the son of Lucius Tarquinius Superbus, the seventh and last king of Rome. She stabbed herself to death and the enraged populance drove the Tarquins from Rome, starting the roman republic.
Lucretia road runs southeast from Seven Hills Road South from Seven Hills Road South to Metella Road, Toongabbie.
