Gallery of log for The Twins

13-Mar-11
I’m logging this one, not to claim the first-to-find, but because I was there. The Twins was part of our walk roster but I didn’t realise the GCA trig point cache project existed at the time Embarassed and therefore there was no ‘intent’ on the find. Quite serendipitously however, I had the group pickie taken under the trig point at 13:00, even though you can’t see the GPSr in it. The photo does, however, have the rare occurrence of EuDes herself in it.

Originally, we were going to do this walk a year ago but the atrocious weather conditions were enough for us to postpone it. This year, the conditions weren’t much better but at least it wasn’t pouring rain although the low cloud did prevent any significant views Sad. In fact, this was the second time I’ve been to the summit of The Twins and I haven’t been able to see more than 100 metres or so Crying or Very sad.

The walk is a tough one but if the 11 yo EuDes herself can do it, it is not beyond the capabilities of most. In fact, she prided herself on being the first person in the group to reach the trig point.

On the way down, the clouds broke a bit and we got to see some of the westerly views Very Happy. On the track back to the cars, we even saw the NE spur we climbed (which was probably a good thing because if we’d seen it earlier, we might have ‘lost’ a few of our walk group Wink).

All in all, a fantastic walk even without the views and I’ll leave the real first-to-find for someone with ‘intent’.

Many thanks Geocaching Australia.
