Gallery of log for Cornelia

Another joint FTF trig for rogerw3 and me.

This ancient TS, about 85 metres off River Road, was perhaps our favourite find during an afternoon of trig hunting. The mast and vanes were gone, but the side name plaque was still in place and in good shape.

Nearby were the partly scattered rocky remains of the original cairn, making a nice circle. This is always fun to see next to a 'new' trig station.

But making our day was the eventual discovery, a few metres away in a clump of bush, of the old vanes, dating from the time of the rock cairn. They were quite rusty and somewhat bent, with only the burnt stub of a post attached. Nevertheless, it was an excellent find and we inspected the vanes closely to see if they were marked in some way. But no, there were no painted or engraved letters or numbers to be seen.

A fitting conclusion to our long day!

Thanks to rogerw3 for tracking down these long-lost coordinates.
