Memorial to Bert Hinkler, the famous aviator . . .

"Bert Hinkler completed the first solo flight from England to Australia in an Avro Avian, registration G-EBOV, leaving England (Croydon Airfield, London) on 7 February 1928 and landing in Darwin on 22 February 1928. He then continued to his hometown of Bundaberg, Queensland, arriving on 27 February 1928. This flight reduced the England-Australia record from 28 days to just under 15.5 days."
