Logs for CheektowagaChick

16-Dec-16
How exciting to log a cache in Antartica! I have to pinch myself! Found the cache in Porto Williams, Chile and then discovered that there was actually a geocache in Port Lockroy, Antartica! Working along with the Expedition Team Leader on the Midnatsol and the four ladies who are stationed at Port Lockroy for the 4 spring/summer months, I was able to retrieve and sign the cache. This has to be a highlight and "favorite" of my journey. I also learned about the U.K. Heritage Trust and life on Port Lockroy. Thank you to the cache owner for placing the cache for adventurers like me to seek. I have attached a picture of the beautiful scenery of this magnificent continent that surrounds Port Lockroy.

Took a minute to find this one...We had to turn on our geosenses....finally felt it as we could not see it. Thanks for placing the cache here because it brought me to the Harbor Bridge walkway which I so much wanted to do? And what a lovely day it was!

Found the cache location after we walked across the Sydney Harbor Bridge. Fun stuff today. Thanks for adding to our Australian adventure. My choice is Jack London and "Call of the Wild." Will post the picture when I get back to the USA and can download my photos onto the computer.

The sight of those bats is amazing. I'm afraid when I see one bat around home; here there's hundreds. The sight and sound of them is one memory that will stick with me! Thanks for the cache!

Day 3 of the August challenge. Thanks for the hide - don't know how I missed this one when Imdid the others in the area. But, since I was in Batavia for the afternoon, this one fit the bill.

My first find in Sydney. Tried to look for it this morning without any success. There was a night person just waking up and I didn't want to search around him. Thought my GPS was taking me near the parking lot--but not so. Turned on my geocaching senses this afternoon and make the find quickly--it was like it was staring me in the face. Also the night person was gone. TFTC and fun in Sydney.

Nice hide in the park - walked there from the ship dock via the information center and the market--looking for Kelly's steps. Early in the morning, so I didn't have any muggles to contend with. Didn't take or leave a scratchie as I'm in transit. My first Australian cache! TFTC

On the Princess Diamond cruise ship - no sightsseing today - just going to stroll around Picton, visit the arts and craft fair, the Edwin Fox Museum, and look for an internet cafe--which I have now found!! This cache took me a little off the main road where I would not have gone if I wasn't looking for the lifeboat. Thanks for guiding me here. Nice 'n easy find - hide well after signing the log. Sat on the concrete edge and rested a bit before moving on. Next stop, the marina area. TFTC

After two failed attempts for two other caches in the Auckland area, I finally found one! My first in New Zealand - walked along the Quay while I waited to board the cruise ship. Nice piece of artwork - "seek and you shall find!" TFTC

Found it - I was surprised to see where we had ended up. I was looking for something entirely different. Caching with RailGal in Washington DC. TFTC (We e-mailed the answer to the cache owner.)
