Logs for David

3:11pm #35756. &wife and I journeyed 7 days through 8 states and 1 Canadian province to find old caches, virtual caches, and challenges. We found 4 of the oldest in states, enjoyed the Geowoodstock giga, and Niagara Falls. I love to get old caches. This is the oldest in 23 states for me. Steep terrain here with pretty views. I took nothing and left nothing. Thank you for placing caches for us to find and enjoy.

1:12pm #34797. &wife and I spent the week in South Florida and had a great time seeing lots of interesting places and parks. We found a few caches along the way too. She was with me on almost every one, but gave up logging long ago. This is my 21st state to find its oldest cache. This one was on the tough end of the spectrum when the mosquitoes and ankle deep mud were factored in. There was a constant buzzing around us for the entire trip, both ways. Deet bug spray seemed to help a little, but they were looking for any place to get in, and my ears and eyes were a constant battleground. I took nothing and left nothing. Thank you for placing caches for us to find and enjoy.

9:35am #33729. &wife and I came out to Utah to see the awesome sights and we were not disappointed. Ah, this was one of the main targets for the trip, and this find completes my double jasmer. I always like to find older caches, but this one is a classic example of all the things that I enjoy about geocaching. I didn’t encounter anyone or anything else on the short hike, but there was plenty of evidence at the stream crossing of wildlife activity here. I took nothing and left nothing. Thank you for placing caches for us to find and enjoy.

4:58pm #32129. Cotontop3 and I teamed up for a 4 day excursion across 9 states. I’m one of many, who have been trying to figure out how to get here for a long time. The only way is to take the time and just do it. The trip for me here was just under 3000 miles round trip and we did lots of cherry picking along the way. Great trip and a great cache. Quite non-descript, but it’s the oldest in the world, so it’s important. Smile I’m glad it has and will continue to survive. I took nothing and left nothing. Thank you for placing caches for us to find and enjoy.

4:00pm #22554. A group of 8 Alabama cachers decided to ride around the lake this afternoon and enjoy caching on these islands. We signed the logs individually or as Team ADD (OHail, xptwo, Whiteboy47, strummin_along, CanUCacheThis, tlmeadowlark, WFD142, and David). After beaching the vessel on the west side, we walked to 6/18/05 first, then over here to the old man before shoving off again. I love to find old caches and I think a couple of our group were especially interested in this one for the Jasmer challenge (I own the Alabama version). The container and contents were in fine shape. I took nothing and left nothing. Thank you for placing caches for us to enjoy.

3:23pm #14328. CanUCacheThis, oldboyhiker, and I took a weekend roadtrip through MS, TN, AR, and MO. We covered a lot of ground, found a few caches, and had a great time. When we were planning the trip, I wondered how this cache could survive for so long when observing the aerial view. Impressive technique and a great cache. It’s great to find these old caches, and especially the oldest in each state. I took a traveler to move along and left nothing. Thank you for placing and maintaining caches for us to enjoy.
