Logs for FJ.de.Bruin

While we come from a country with a lot of wind, the Bluff today hugely impressed us: we had to hang on to our hats and glasses on the top and the track down.

Parked at Stirling Point we opted for the uphill route. What started as a moderate clmb, things got a little steep as we progressed. Once on the top, it was hard to stay on our feet and at the geodetic marker, we were almost blown out of our socks. It wasn't too pleasant.

Hiding for the storm, we puzzeled together the cache coordinates and headed down.

The looks of the ocean worried us: not for today but for tomorrow. We're scheduled for Stewart Island. It will be a bumpy ride.

Finding the cache was not too difficult. The coordinates were bang on.

We left behind our signatue item, the Delft Blue clogs as well as the Fiddler Travel bug.

Once the cache was replaced, we quickly went our way to a well deserved meal at the Drunken Sailor.

A cache of firsts. My first visit to New Zealand, and (thus) my first cache in this beautiful country. Also, it was the first cache ever for Erica. And it was a very nice walk for a introduction into geocaching. I think she is going to like it!

We took the mountain bike trail up; the weather was superb: sunny but not too hot. The stash was not too hard to find and was in good condition.

I left a pair of Delft blue clogs and the Tardis TB.

We took a postcard as a momentum.

After Colers Killer, Erica got the hang of it and we decided to do a second cache.

This was an easy one but the environment is worth the visit. The Falls are lovely.

It is good to see a cache this old and still in relative good shape (the logbooks could use a good dry out).

We didn't take anything but I left a pair of Delft blue clogs.
